Cheetah Mobile Seeking to Develop Indonesia’s Smartphone Application Market

Jakarta, August 11, 2015 – Cheetah Mobile (NYSE: CMCM), the leading developer of mission-critical mobile utility applications, today announced its plan to enter the Indonesian market, bringing its well-acclaimed products to the 58 million smartphone users in Indonesia (1). As the largest utility applications publisher on Google Play, Cheetah Mobile will be actively searching for local business partners, forming partnerships with mobile phone manufacturers, mobile network carrier, and application developers.

Cheetah Mobile’s flagship product, Clean Master, is the most downloaded mobile application in the Google Play Tools category globally by monthly downloads (2). The application is the third most downloaded application in the Google Play Store Free Tools apps category in Indonesia. It provides multilayer protection to smartphones, scanning new apps, updates, file system, and websites to safeguard device’s security in real-time. It allows users to detect viruses, Trojans, malware, vulnerabilities, spyware, adware on Android mobile phones and tablets efficiently.

Cheetah Mobile recently opened its first branch office in Indonesia. Within the past one year, the company has secured partnerships with the top five OEMs (original equipment manufacturer) in Indonesia. In the second half of the year, the company will focus on engaging with the local mobile eco-system, including building relationship with local app developers and holding seminars in universities to talk about the trend of mobile Internet.
